Gabriela Bahr, MD

Rheumatology

Dr. Gabriela Bahr is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine. She completed her fellowship at University of Texas at Houston and served as the chief rheumatology fellow during her training. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology. She has broad clinical experience and training in multiple types of arthritis including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout in addition to managing connective tissue diseases such as lupus, scleroderma, and Sjogrens. Dr. Bahr is a native Texan who grew up in the suburbs of Houston. Dr. Bahr is a first generation American with Mexican and Cuban background making her fluent in Spanish. She attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish. She later attended medical school at Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico. She returned home to Houston to complete her residency and fellowship at the University of Texas. In 2020 she was selected by the Arthritis Foundation to be the Medical Honoree of their annual Jingle Bell Run. Dr. Bahr comes from a legacy of physicians and understands the importance of compassion, dedication and good communication when it comes to practicing medicine. She believes that medicine should include a team approach between the physician and the patient to find the best treatment option that fits your specific needs. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bahr enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
