Joelle grew up in the D.C. area where she obtained her first bachelor’s degree in Biology at George Mason University. Her love of travel, to learn about other cultures, and desire to help led her to join Peace Corps where she volunteered in a small rural community in El Salvador. It is there she discovered her love of nursing.
When she returned from El Salvador she went back for a bachelors degree in nursing at George Mason University. She practiced as an RN for 8 years in a variety of communities, with a variety of patients from all walks of life, but primarily in the ER. She then decided to pursue an advanced practice degree at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
